The warm glow of nostalgia can only last so long. Almost exactly one month, in fact, so it’s time to dig out last year’s gloves, scarves and hats, and the early winter weather coat (no, we’re not going to play the chocolate game): cold days are ahead. I suggest you find your nearest mulled wine merchant or log fire, or preferably both, and cosy up to this month’s selection of wintry chrimbletide treats.

First up The Coral: shown here being all acoustic, and roughly 200 miles away from their lovable scouse scamp roots, with “Walking in the Winter”, taken from their unexpectedly mature sixth album Butterfly House in 2010.
