Sweden’s The Radio Dept have been gradually getting less fuzzy over the years, but this is taken from Pet Grief, the first of their albums to receive proper international release, back in 2006. It’s Personal is a minor key instrumental mood piece: more melancholy than the average shoegaze / dream pop; perhaps not a track that immediately makes you think “Shoegazing!”, but it’s got a vibe and a momentum that so much of the genre aspires to. Think Ulrich Schnauss under a mild sedative, or Slowdive if they’d made two more albums.
