Femme - Fever Boy
Following on from Touch yesterday, today’s “In Case You Missed It” pick comes from another artists chosen by a big-blog-cheese. This time the selection comes from Sean Adams, of Drowned in Sound.
Having first mentioned FKA Twigs, Parlour, and Annie Eve, while also casually mentioning that DiS don’t focus that much on new music (meaning, I think, that they’re not fixated on being the blog that broke the next big thing, and not that they take their lead from, say, Uncut and Mojo), Adams selected Fever Boy by Femme. Part in-your-face verse, part sweet melodic chorus, it buzzes pretty fiercely (if I can get away with using a word like that) and is the most addictive combination of hand-claps, clicks and distorted bass you’re likely to hear this year.
