Dissolve, released last week by Absofacto, is a tale of the joy and sorrow, the pleasure and pain of love. It’s the truth and the cliché, the knowledge that to win a heart you have to risk losing your own, and the intense desire to go through with it anyway.

That’s about the size of it, I think, writ large in funky electro lettering made by the Broken Bells Neon Sign-writing and Dancefloor Illumination Company. And by golly it’s wonderful, shuffling jittery verses breaking out into smooth choruses backed by flowing harmonies.

i just wanted you to watch me dissolve
