Pantha Du Prince (aka German DJ and producer Hendrik Weber) takes found sounds, field recordings, sprinkles over minimal techno, investigating the hinterlands of silence and noise, reality and artificiality. In so doing,

he shapes a novel kind of club music that is probably best described by the term “sonic house”.
Aram Lintzel

Spectral Split is taken from Elements of Light, a 2012 collaboration with The Bell Laboratory that combines Weber’s nuanced drift with a Norwegian percussion collective whose instruments include a 50-bell 3-tonne carillon. At its best, it’s a spectacularly atmospheric piece, one which demands to be heard far beyond the pathetic and squashed confines of a youtube embed. Some vast and empty cathedral, or misty slopes overlooking an infinite canyon ought to do the trick.
