Right, can’t sit here in the corner all night. I need to start work on MY INVESTIGATION. Blinds on the window. And by the window. And a pain behind the eyes. Perhaps staring for a bit at that woman who lives opposite will make it better. Good, she still hasn’t fixed her curtains. Or blinds. I’ll keep the light on in case I want to take some more notes. Besides, don’t want to be stumbling around in the dark, bumping into things - chairs in strange positions, goldfish bowls, candles. Actually, I’ll just blow this surprisingly bright candle out…

Maybe Mark would cheer up if he knew this fairly un-single like 1982 track would sell so well, and that in a few years time Dire Straits would release one of the best selling albums of all time with “Brothers in Arms” (30 million and counting). Or that his soundtrack to Local Hero would be so well-loved. OK, so there would be “Twisting By The Pool” to get through as well, but that’s just a small bump in long, straight, and very successful rock road. A road, admittedly, that would end with their sadly mediocre final album “On Every Street”. To think I paid good money for that…

Anyway, enjoy Knopfler’s anguish, and check out Guitar George - he knows all the chords. If you feel short-changed by the short running time of this video, don’t fear - longer versions are out there.
