With some bands, there eventually comes a time when you have to stop describing its members’ work as “side projects”. Doves were good back when they were Sub Sub, and brilliant when they are Doves. When they’re neither, it seems they’re still pretty ace. Jimi Goodwin showed the way earlier in the year with his solo album Odludek, and now Jez and Andy Williams are showing their class without him, as Black Rivers.””

In August they made The Ship available as a free download; Voyager 1 is their first official single, out later this month. Check out the video, below, and bask in the song’s incessant groove.

The Leeds, Belgrave Hall gig has been moved from October 26th to 2nd March 2015.
