A Right RRP Round-up
All The Wine - Summer Parade
Summer Parade is the first EP from All The Wine, released in December 2014. Their influences include The Gaslight Anthem, The Hold Steady, The Replacements, Against Me, and - not surprisingly given their name perhaps - The National. That’s a pretty handy selection to be drawing from, and on Summer Parade they combine those forces with their own to good effect.

I, Us, & We - Sunday
Sunday is the lead single from Mono, the debut EP from I, Us & We. It’s a lush synth-driven glide with a nifty modern take on some soft-focus 80s production. Call it chillwave, call it synthwave, call it what you want, it’ll still sooth your soul just as well whichever way.

Rivers & Satellites - The Game
Look, ma! I still listen to guitars!
Rivers & Satellites are two Indian brothers who just seem to be casually dropping indie rock / alt / grungey tunes mostly in a noisy 90s style.
Shady Elders - The Night Air
New year, same old random posting schedule… this, from Denver’s Shady Elders, turned up on Soundcloud in May last year, but it’s good, easily good enough for a “who cares how long ago it was released - it’s worth sharing” inclusion here. Fairly typical, really, that the best new thing I’ve heard this year turns out not, in fact, to be new. In a nutshell: dreamy female vocals, dreamy melodies and a bit of crunch in all the right places. It all adds up to some top-notch indie-pop.

Sky-Pony - Rapture
I’m really losing my grip on this “new music” only rule. Just as well it’s an unwritten one, and therefore completely ignorable…
Here’s some NY indie-pop from a group who have been described as “like a 1960s girl group on crack”

Vault Holiday - I Can’t Afford To Leave You
Taken from the forthcoming You Call This Science EP. Sounds like a pretty straightforward three-piece rock effort at first, but give it a little time and you might find some shape-shifting math/prog time signature shenanigans going on.
