Oak Tree Suite are a four piece indie rock band hailing from Perth, Australia comprised of song writer and lead vocalist Matthew Garrod, Joshua Lindley (Drums), Steven Lukman (guitar) and Shane Tyler (bass).
Lo Ammi is their first release since the Take Your Eyes Off The Ground EP from earlier this year. In the meantime the band have had a short break with Garrod getting married, but are heading to Indonesia for live dates towards the end of September / early October, and this single will wave them on their way.
Lo Ammi was born from the desire of wanting more and a lack of contentment with the present. The idea that not having the latest thing, or a nice house is a bad thing seems to be something of an illusion.
Matthew Garrod’s crystalline, ever melodic and versatile vocals – at times distinctly Chris Martin – are the backbone for a song of reflection that shuffles forward but takes surprising twists along the way. It’s a song crafted with maturity, and according to Garrod, he is satisfied that it captures their live sound accurately but is pushing the previous boundaries he felt were established too.
Lo Ammi by OAK TREE SUITE will be released 18th of September 2015 on Pavement Records.
