Controller - Separator
There was a time, not so long ago in fact, when The Bravery and The Stills and a legion of other indie dance bands coulda had it all. And then it didn’t quite happen, and they quietly went away one by one. They made second and third albums that most people don’t even know exist.
Apparently, we the people had tired of that whole thing. Or there was too much of it and it was substandard. To be honest, I forget which.
Well let it be known that we’re ready for some more. Specifically, let it be known that we want Controller to bring it, because Separator is about as good as it gets in its field, the field being effortlessly catchy indie rock with a new wave twist that makes you want to be in the booth making sure this gets played, then out on the floor making the most of it. (Projecting slightly here, actually - RRP is not known for its ability to throw shapes - but you get gist…)
