After their debut EP, Movements, in November 2012, Australian band City Calm Down won hearts and plaudits alike. The singles Pleasure & Consequence and Sense of Self followed, along with tours supporting alt-J, CHVRCHES, Bombay Bicycle Club, and Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs.

Rabbit Run is the first release since the band returned to the studio to work on their first full-length release. If you’re into New Order-esque bass and synth-driven indie-rock with a lyrical delivery and frenetic energy reminiscent of Frightened Rabbit (literally can’t think why that specific reference would come to mind during a track called Rabbit Run…) this is for you. And if not, this is something you should maybe consider getting heavily into…

City Calm Down will play a one-off headline show in Melbourne at the Northcote Social Club on Friday 10 July, with support from local “dole-wave” outfit Crepes. This will be the band’s only performance before the release of In A Restless House on September 11th, via I OH YOU.
