The War on Drugs - Red Eyes
Those folks down at Secretly Canadian are starting to stack up some high quality releases for 2014. I’ve already written of my newfound love for Woman’s Hour; also on the Secretly Canadian roster are The War on Drugs, whose last album, Slave Ambient was a rollicking widescreen highlight of 2011.
With Red Eyes Adam Granduciel once more picks up the baton passed on by songs from Slave Ambient like Brothers, Baby Missiles, and Come to the City and just heads on down the highway with it in the grand rock tradition. I haven’t listened to the rest of the album, but the reviews I’ve seen have all been positive. Definitely one to look forward to.
Lost in the Dream is out on March 17/18 in Europe/US.
