Ramona Lisa is a recording alias of Chairlift’s Caroline Polachek. In 2014 Polachek released her debut album Arcadia, along with an EP, Dominic. All tracks for both releases were recorded entirely in MIDI, using nothing but her laptop and the ambient sounds of the various impromptu spaces Polachek used to record the tracks.

Now Polachek has reworked her “Pastoral Electronic Music” into an EP of piano-only versions. Walking in the Cemetery is a reworking of a b-side from the Dominic EP, stripping the song’s electronic sheen and its pops and percussions, “revealing what was going on in there all along” as Polachek herself says, at the same time turning the song into a delicate ballad that brings Polachek’s vocals to the fore.
