Love Is On The Way is the first release from Brooklyn/Athens based Kuroma, the band formed by former Whigs and current MGMT guitarist Hank Sullivant in 2008. Now with James Richardson and Will Berman of MGMT and Simon O’Connor (Amazing Baby) on board, Kuroma have an album ready for release and an upcoming tour with Ex-Hex in April (having recently toured with MGMT and Tame Impala).

The album, Kuromarama, will be out on April 7th on Votiv Music. You can listen to Love is on the Way right here, right now, through the magic of Soundcloud. And you should, because it’s a highly addictive and slinky groove. Right now it’s reminding me strongly (and I love them for this) of the kind of simple brilliance that Buddy Holly brought to pop music. The magic is in those little chord-change-then-return moments that the song revolves around. The sound itself is clean and pure, and I’m slowly growing addicted to pressing play as soon as it finishes…
